"The ego is the term used to designate the
false self."
—Oscar Ichazo
In Oscar Ichazo's Integral Teachings, the Fixations identify the "ego" as a false self. In the enneagrams of the Fixations, Ichazo imparts an understanding of human behavior with insight into what used to be referred to as the human Soul. In presenting the Fixations, he refers to "what used to be understood as far back as Plato for whom the Soul is composed of physical needs, emotions and thoughts that together constitute a human personality."
An appreciation of the nature of the Fixations is based upon Ichazo's Teachings of Protoanalysis® (Proto: or original). He states, "The goal of Protoanalysis is to transcend the ego–self step by step," and is foremost in the clarification of the human process from the lowest ego–manifestations to the highest Absolute States as provided by Ichazo's teachings. In short, the study of Protoanalysis will equip us with the knowledge of the source of the Fixations in our psyche and how our character and patterns of behavior manifest, making them easy to identify.
Insights into the Enneagrams of the Fixations offers a level of comprehension and knowledge that awakens us to observe our human condition in depth. With this book, we attain a heightened and all–important perspective of the Fixations and the path of Self–realization for the benefit of all humanity.
"When transcendence through understanding and processing is attained from the point of view of the Witness in the State of 'Mind–only,' a person can reach a clarified perspective."
